Why I’m Writing the Business Guides I Wish I’d Had
Introducing the Don Ray Practical Business Guide Series: From the Kitchen Table to the Boardroom.
Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great day. This is Don Ray, and I have some exciting news to share.
I’m writing the business guides I wish I’d had when I started my entrepreneurial journey.
I’ve started businesses, made mistakes, and experienced the disappointment of things not working out. Sometimes I had a vision but didn’t know what to do next. Other times, I needed more focus and a clearer plan.
Those experiences inspired The Don Ray Practical Business Guide Series, built around the theme “From the Kitchen Table to the Boardroom.”
The collection will include 12 books and 12 companion workbooks, covering different stages of starting, running, and growing a business. The first four books are already available on Amazon, and the Don Ray Business Library is coming soon to apexfundingnetwork.com.
Practical Lessons You Can Put to Work
Some of us have an idea but need help turning it into action. Others are already running a business but have gaps in our knowledge or struggle to stay focused. I know how frustrating that can feel.
Think of this series as a business cookbook. Different challenges call for different recipes. The books explain the lessons, and the companion workbooks help you apply them to your own business.
You can follow the series from the beginning or turn to the subject you need most right now. The purpose is to help you make decisions and take practical steps forward.
The Inspiration Behind the Series
The stories of Bill Gates and Byron Allen helped inspire me. Gates left Harvard to co-found Microsoft, while Allen began as a comedian and built his business from his dining room table.
Their paths were different, but their stories encouraged me to think beyond where I started.
Your goal may be to support your family, serve your community, or build a company that can grow beyond you. Whatever your goal, I want these books to help you move forward with more knowledge, focus, and confidence.
Start With Book 1: From Idea to First Customers
Every business starts with an idea. The next challenge is figuring out what to do with it.
From Idea to First Customers focuses on turning that idea into practical action and working toward your first customers. It’s the starting point for the series—and an introduction to the step-by-step approach behind the collection.
Its companion action workbook is designed to help you put the lessons to work in your own business.
Author disclosure: I wrote this book and earn royalties from purchases.
What’s Coming Next
I’ll be sharing more book covers, practical lessons, and updates as the collection grows. The upcoming Don Ray Business Library on the Apex website will bring the books and companion workbooks together so you can explore the collection in one place.
In the meantime, if you’re working toward business funding, visit apexfundingnetwork.com and get your free funding checklist.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Wherever you’re starting, I hope you’ll find something here that helps you take your next step.
